Discord provides users with four distinct status options: Online, Idle, Do Not Disturb, and Invisible.
Online: By default, when Discord is open, users are marked as Online, denoted by a green dot adjacent to their avatar. This status signifies availability for chat.
Idle: Indicating that the user has been away from the keyboard (AFK) for a period, the Idle status is represented by a yellow dot. Discord automatically activates this status during inactivity, but it can also be set manually. While the auto-idle status disappears upon returning to the app, users can manually set Idle status for an indefinite duration.
Do Not Disturb: Signifying unavailability for chat, the Do Not Disturb (DnD) status is marked by a red circle. It automatically mutes all Discord notifications on the desktop.
Invisible: Even when the Discord app is open, the Invisible status makes users appear offline. Although friends and server members see them as offline, users retain full access to Discord’s features.
Note: Online and Idle are server-controlled statuses, while Do Not Disturb and Invisible are user-activated. However, users can manually set Idle status.
Custom Status: Discord also allows users to set a custom display message for each status type, configurable for a specific period based on conditions.
